ABOUT Us

Getting To Know Us Better

OUR TEAM

As a team, we are a group of caring family members who share a lifelong dedication to assisting families with obtaining the proper services required for their child.

The Family Peer Support Specialists (FPSS) use their lived experience as a family member, combined with knowledge gained from completing the state-designated family peer support training, to provide emotional, instrumental, and informational support. Family Peer services increase access to earlier appropriate behavioral health and/or autism evaluation, treatment and other needed services and resources for children and youth by engaging and working with parents/primary caregivers and family members in a supportive and informed way. Family Peer support can help caregivers access systems more effectively, learn from the experiences of other families, feel less alone, and gain hope, ideas, and information.

OUR MISSION

Philadelphia Family Voices is Philadelphia’s first and only family-legacy organization. As a family legacy organization, the mission of Philadelphia Family Voices is “families helping families navigate and improve child-serving systems by creating opportunities for education, empowerment, advocacy, and support”.

OUR VALUES

Youth & Family-Driven: We believe youth and families have the right to be well-informed and empowered as primary decision-makers in their personal care as well as the policies and procedures governing the care of the community.  Every small achievement can lead to amazing success. We celebrate with those we work with and recognize that each incremental goal reached can mean a big victory for a child and their family.

OUR PURPOSE

The purpose of PFV is to support the primary caregiver/family member and enhance their skills so they can promote positive child/youth functioning and their child’s ability to live successfully in their community.
